11 hantavirus instances now tied to cruise ship, together with 3 lifeless

WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus mentioned Tuesday that 11 instances of hantavirus have been reported.

All of the 11 instances are amongst passengers or crew on the ship, he mentioned, with 9 of the instances confirmed because the Andes pressure of the virus. The different two are “probable” instances, he mentioned.

Three passengers have died since April 11, and there are a number of different confirmed or possible instances, based on WHO, which has reiterated that the chance to most people is low.
