A big sea turtle that was discovered injured alongside the Florida coast in May following a ship strike was returned to the ocean on Wednesday.
The grownup feminine named Pennywise, which weighs 302 kilos, was deemed wholesome and robust sufficient to return to the wild after being handled by Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s veterinary staff for the previous few months.
With sea turtle nesting season underway, Pennywise has the prospect to put her eggs and proceed her important function within the marine ecosystem. #animals #information #florida
