Chris Philp, the shadow residence secretary, has admitted the final Conservative authorities failed on immigration, after accusing Labour of shedding management of the UK’s borders.
The former minister mentioned authorized migration has been too excessive below successive governments including, "it was a mistake, it should never have been allowed to happen."
His speech on the Conservative Party convention in Manchester comes as at the least 20 Tory councillors have introduced their deflection to the Reform Party.
