Asked by reporters outdoors the West Wing whereas greeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky if President Donald Trump thought he may persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin to finish the conflict in Ukraine, Trump stated, “Yup, we can.” During remarks later within the White House Cabinet Room, Trump stated he thinks the Russian president “wants to end the war.”
