Prince William has been bestowed with the keys to Rio de Janeiro – an honour sometimes reserved for town’s carnival king – as he begins a five-day go to to Brazil.

The Prince of Wales will go to a number of the metropolis’s most iconic sights earlier than attending the Earthshot Prize awards on Wednesday night, after which the annual UN local weather assembly COP30, as he hopes to go away behind the issues of his uncle, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
