Donald Trump threatens to sue BBC for $1bn over Panorama documentary

Donald Trump has threatened to sue the BBC for $1bn until the company apologises and compensates the US president for a Panorama documentary that misleadingly edited his 6 January Capitol Hill speech.

Trump’s legal professionals additionally demanded the BBC withdraw the movie.

BBC News director-general Tim Davie, and BBC News CEO Deborah Turness each resigned on Sunday after it emerged Panorama had spliced collectively parts of the Trump speech.

Trump’s legal professionals gave the BBC till 14 November to adjust to the request.
