Former Met Police officer David Carrick given further life sentence over intercourse offences

Former Met Police officer and serial rapist David Carrick has been handed his thirty seventh life sentence after he was discovered responsible of extra intercourse offences.

Carrick was sentenced on the Old Bailey after being convicted of molesting a 12-year-old woman and raping a former accomplice.

In 2023, he was sentenced to a minimal time period of 32 years in a case that precipitated widespread public anger after it emerged that repeated alternatives to cease his offending had been missed whereas he was serving as a police officer.
