The Met Office has issued an amber warning for snow in components of north east England.
It has warned that from 0500-2100 on Thursday, there could possibly be "significant" snow accumulations over the North York Moors and components of the Yorkshire Wolds.
By the top of Thursday, as a lot as 15-25 cm might have accrued on hills above 100m elevation, which is more likely to trigger substantial disruption.
