150 firefighters tackling main fireplace at London warehouse

Around 150 firefighters have responded to a big blaze at a warehouse in west London – as the fireplace service declared a significant incident.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) has despatched 25 fireplace engines to the incident on Bridge Road, Southall. The reason behind the fireplace will not be but identified.

The fireplace service stated in a press release that the blaze "is located in a two-storey structure consisting of a warehouse and retail space".

"Around three-quarters of the structure is currently alight," LFB added. "Three of the Brigade turntable ladders have been deployed to scene, allowing crews to fight the fire from height."

In an replace after noon, Assistant Commissioner Pat Goulbourne, the Brigade’s incident commander, stated that "a major incident has been declared" on the scene.
