Sentencing of Sudan’s Janjaweed militia chief Ali Muhammad Ali Abd-al-Rahman for warfare crimes

The Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) delivers its sentencing judgment within the case towards Janjaweed militia chief Ali Muhammad Ali Abd-Al-Rahman, also called Ali Kushayb.

On 6 October 2025, Mr Abd-Al-Rahman was discovered responsible by the ICC of 27 counts of crimes towards humanity and warfare crimes, in Darfur, Sudan, between August 2003 and April 2004.
