Man discovered responsible of murdering his spouse in uncommon retrial

A 52-year-old carpenter from Surrey has been discovered responsible of murdering his spouse in a uncommon retrial, eight years after being acquitted.

Robert Rhodes killed his estranged spouse, Dawn Rhodes, by slitting her throat with a knife at their household residence in Redhill, Surrey, in June 2016.

He was beforehand discovered not responsible after a trial on the Old Bailey in 2017, the place he satisfied jurors that he had acted in self-defence throughout an argument.

It has since emerged that this was a "cover-up", after the couple’s little one got here ahead with new proof that Rhodes killed Ms Rhodes, they usually had been concerned within the homicide too.
