French actress Brigitte Bardot has died, aged 91.
Bardot shot to worldwide fame with the 1956 movie And God Created Woman, and for the subsequent 20 years embodied the concept of the archetypal “sex kitten”.
She later retired and turned to politics, changing into an outspoken animal rights supporter.
