The United States European Command has confirmed the "seizure" of the Marinera oil tanker for violating US sanctions.
The vessel had been renamed the Marinera and was crusing underneath a Russian flag because it fled the US pursuit within the Atlantic. The tanker seems to have sailed with a Guyana flag earlier than this variation.
