Iran claims protester not sentenced to loss of life after outcry | Sky News protection
Iran’s judiciary is claiming that Erfan Soltani has been arrested throughout protests however not sentenced to loss of life, based on state media.
The judiciary says Soltani, presently held within the central penitentiary of Karaj, is being charged with "colluding against the country’s internal security and propaganda activities against the regime".
But it says the loss of life penalty doesn’t apply to such fees if they’re confirmed by a courtroom.
A human rights group beforehand warned that Soltani had been sentenced to loss of life, with the US State Department, saying on its Farsi language X account, that he could be the primary protester executed, however not the final.
However, this week, Donald Trump repeatedly threatened Iran with motion if it did go forward and execute protesters.
Yesterday, one in all Soltani’s members of the family informed Sky News that he hadn’t been executed after he was scheduled to be hung Wednesday.
