The Labour Party has defended its choice to not enable the mayor of Greater Manchester to face as a candidate in a by-election.
The transfer would have allowed Andy Burnham to stage a management bid in opposition to Sir Keir Starmer, if he later selected to.
An announcement from the celebration stated the explanation behind the vote was the price of working the campaigns for each a parliamentary seat and a Manchester mayoralty by-election.
Mr Burnham stated he was "disappointed" by the choice however would assist the brand new candidate.
