NBC News’ Savannah Guthrie will now not host the community’s protection of the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics in Italy because the seek for her lacking mother Nancy Guthrie continues. “Savannah will not be joining us at the Olympics as she focuses on being with her family during this difficult time," an NBC Sports spokesperson said Feb. 3. "Our hearts are with her and the entire Guthrie family as the search continues for their mother." The rep added, "We will share additional information about our Opening Ceremony coverage plans soon.” Earlier within the week, Savannah confirmed that her 84-year-old mother was reported lacking from her Tucson, Ariz., house and that her household—together with siblings Annie Guthrie and Camron Guthrie—was targeted on the “safe return of our dear Nancy.” The Pima County Sheriff’s Department later confirmed that the octogenarian’s house had been designated a criminal offense scene as a consequence of what investigators found.
