Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine briefed reporters on the Pentagon on Monday. Caine mentioned the US struggle in opposition to Iran wouldn’t include a “single, overnight operation” and added that extra US casualties needs to be anticipated.
“This is not a single, overnight operation,” Caine mentioned. “The military objectives that CENTCOM and the Joint Force have been tasked with will take some time to achieve, and in some cases, will be difficult and gritty work.”
“We expect to take additional losses, and as always, we will work to minimize US losses,” the overall added. Four American servicemembers have been killed for the reason that US and Israel struck targets inside Iran over the weekend.
