‘You think this is Aladdin?’: Comedian caught in Dubai on US evacuation
Comedian Nasser Al-Reyess was visiting Dubai when he heard the information that Americans had been urged to depart the Middle East instantly. He says he referred to as the State Department’s 24/7 hotline for help, however reached an automatic message stating there are “currently no United States evacuation points.”
Stranded passengers are beginning to go away the Middle East as airways schedule new companies and governments rally constitution flights. But many stay caught, with journey choices restricted.
The first US evacuation flight left the Middle East after the Trump administration confronted backlash for not having an evacuation plan prepared. More than 17,500 US residents have returned dwelling from the Middle East since February 28.
