‘Many issues went mistaken’ NTSB findings on LGA aircraft crash

A fireplace truck concerned in Sunday’s lethal collision with an Air Canada aircraft at New York’s LaGuardia Airport was not outfitted with a transponder — know-how that helps air visitors controllers establish and monitor autos on the airfield — the National Transportation Safety Board mentioned Tuesday.

Also, the airport’s floor detection gear – ASDE-X – didn’t generate an alert forward of the collision “due to the close proximity of vehicles merging and unmerging near the runway,” which resulted “in the inability to create a track of high confidence,” NTSB chairwoman Jennifer Homendy mentioned.
