Sephora and the wonder ‘comseticorexia’ probe | FT #shorts

Italian regulators are investigating LVMH-owned magnificence retailer Sephora and the posh group’s Benefit Cosmetics model over claims their advertising has allegedly fuelled ‘cosmeticorexia’, an unhealthy obsession with skincare amongst younger ladies.⁠

Italy’s competitors and market authority stated it was probing Sephora and Benefit for suspected ‘unfair business practices’ with the promotion of skincare merchandise akin to face masks, serums and anti-ageing lotions to ladies as younger as 10 years previous, the FT’s Amy Kazmin explains. ⁠
