Former prime minister Gordon Brown has been appointed as a particular envoy on world finance and Harriet Harman as girls and women adviser.

"The PM has committed to boosting the country’s security and resilience," Number 10 stated.

"In this role, Gordon Brown will advise on how global finance cooperation can help to achieve this."

Gordon Brown served as chancellor for a decade, between 1997 and 2007 below then-PM Sir Tony Blair. He additionally turned Labour chief and prime minister for 3 years, till 2010.
