The hearing into the 6 January Capitol riot has been given extraordinary new details of Donald Trump’s mindset during the events.
The former president refused requests to urge the rioters to stop and instead attempted to delay the congressional certification of Joe Biden’s election victory.
The hearing could be the last one this summer, with another round due to take place in September.
