Al Qaeda leader and one of the masterminds behind the 9/11 attacks, Ayman al-Zawahiri, was killed in a US drone strike in Kabul, Afghanistan just over a decade after founder Osama bin Laden was killed by US special forces.
The group must now decide who will replace al-Zawahiri as chief and names are already cropping up.
