Hyundai Motor Group’s EVs to plug into Tesla charging ports

Hyundai and Kia vehicles will soon adopt Tesla’s charging ports.

On Thursday, Kia, Hyundai, and Genesis car manufacturers from South Korea revealed their plans to implement ports for electric vehicles (EVs) starting in 2024. This development aims to significantly enhance the convenience of charging EVs for drivers during their journeys.

Hyundai Motor Group, which also owns Kia though they operate separate businesses in the U.S., makes eight different EVs. It’s the second most popular EV brand in America after Tesla.

Hyundai Motor Group has decided to adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard, following the footsteps of Ford, General Motors, Honda, Nissan, and Mercedes-Benz.
