ABC Calls Off Next GOP Debate After Nikki Haley Says She Won’t Appear Without Trump

ABC News referred to as off its Republican major debate in New Hampshire on Thursday after former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley stated she would not take part if former President Donald Trump failed to indicate up.

“Our intent was to host a debate coming out of the Iowa caucuses, but we always knew that would be contingent on the candidates and the outcome of the race,” an ABC spokesperson stated.

Haley, who completed in third place after the Iowa caucuses, stated Tuesday Republicans had already participated in “five great debates in this campaign.” But she challenged Trump and his refusal to seem, saying the previous president had “nowhere left to hide.”

“The next debate I do will either be with Donald Trump or with Joe Biden,” she stated on the time. “I look forward to it.”

CNN can be scheduled to carry a debate in New Hampshire on Sunday. It’s unclear if that may happen.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has additionally questioned Trump’s determination to duck the talk stage, saying he owed it to Americans to defend his file whereas in workplace. But the governor launched his personal assault in opposition to Haley over her announcement, saying she was “afraid to debate because she doesn’t want to answer the tough questions.”

Trump, for his half, has largely ignored the barbs, as an alternative mocking Haley and DeSantis whereas sitting far forward of them within the polls.
