The developer behind smash-hit Helldivers 2 has suggested followers to not spend their “last dollar” on the sport.

Arrowhead Studios’ on-line shooter has been a runaway success because it launched on 8 February, breaking participant information for writer Sony.

But the sudden reputation has put a pressure on the sport’s servers, with many struggling to go online.

That hasn’t stopped gross sales, however Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt has stated: “If you have no cash, get it later.”

In Helldivers 2, you are a member of a workforce of troopers dropped on to an alien planet and tasked with surviving assaults from waves of large, insect-like creatures.

The recreation launched to rave critiques from critics, who praised its gameplay and its references to 90s sci-fi satire Starship Troopers.

It’s been an particularly large hit with PC avid gamers, simply beating information set by earlier PlayStation Studios titles corresponding to God of War.

Despite server issues – with followers left ready in lengthy queues to start out matches – the thrill across the recreation has been big.

And when one gamer urged others to cease “hyping up” Helldivers 2 as a result of he had “no money” to purchase the £35 ($40) title, Arrowhead boss Johan had some recommendation.

“While we made a really fun game it’s worth waiting until the servers can support the capacity,” he replied.

“I mean, as a CEO I of course want the game to be as profitable as possible, but if you spent [your] last $ and got stuck in server queues I’d be heartbroken.”

Arrowhead has admitted that it is “struggling to keep up” with the demand for the sport, and on Monday restricted the variety of gamers allowed without delay to 450,000.

The firm says it is working across the clock to spice up capability and iron out points as quickly as potential.

Helldivers 2’s success follows the shocking rise of Palworld – aka “Pokemon with guns” – which debuted to large demand final month.

The builders of that recreation have now turned their consideration to catching cheats after participant counts settled down.
