The former chair of the Post Office – Henry Staunton – who was sacked final month, claims he was instructed by a high civil servant to "hobble into the election" and delay payouts to sub-postmasters, in a newly launched memo.
But Business Secretary Kemi Badenoch instructed MPs there’ was "no evidence whatsoever that this is true", and known as his allegations "a disgrace".
They come as solely 5% of sub-postmasters claimants have acquired compensation for the Horizon IT scandal up to now.
