Former president and 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump shall be participating in a panel dialogue on the NABJ conference. He shall be interviewed by reporters Kadia Goba, Rachel Scott and Harris Faulkner.
Mr. Trump’s invitation to the conference has led to backlash and debate inside the organisation and on-line.
In 2018, the NABJ criticised Trump for utilizing phrases equivalent to "stupid", "loser" and "nasty" to explain black girls who’re journalist.
Following the announcement that Trump would attend a question-and-answer session on the conference, co-chair Karen Attiah stated she’s going to step down.
In a put up on X, she stated "while my decision was influenced by a variety of factors, I was not involved or consulted with in any way with the decision to platform Trump in such a format".
