Labour defends winter gasoline funds claiming is has to make ‘troublesome choices’

The chief of the House of Commons has defended plans to means-test the winter gasoline fee for pensioners, claiming it has needed to make "difficult decisions".

Speaking on Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips, Lucy Powell mentioned it was "not what we wanted to do", blaming the earlier Conservative authorities for overspending, saying "we do look back in anger".

She was additionally quizzed on the proposed ban on smoking in out of doors areas, together with pub gardens, denying the federal government was "attacking" the hospitality business.
