Hezbollah’s assassinated chief Hassan Nasrallah had agreed to a three-week ceasefire shortly earlier than he was killed, Lebanon’s ambassador to the UK has informed Sky News.
When requested if rumours the late Hezbollah chief had backed a ceasefire have been true, Rami Mortada mentioned "yes" and that the Lebanese authorities – which isn’t run by the militant group – had agreed to the scheme.
"Yes, we expressed our agreement to this scheme that was laid out by the US, UK and 15 other nations," he mentioned. "Unfortunately, also, what happened when Netanyahu reached New York? He just rebuffed all this peace plan and is still doing that."
