This 12 months’s Emissions Gap Report by the UN says the possibilities of limiting world warming to 1.5C is “virtually zero”.
Signed by 196 international locations, The Paris Agreement was set as much as restrict world warming to beneath 2C above pre-industrial ranges and forestall it from rising past 1.5C.
However, the report finds that greenhouse fuel emissions in 2023 have been the best on report and that the planet is on track for 3.5C of warming this century if international locations proceed at their present trajectory.
