Policing minister: ‘I do not settle for claims Labour broke promise over farmers’ inheritance tax’

Dame Diana Johnson has instructed Sky News that she would not settle for that Labour broke guarantees about adjustments to the inheritance tax for farmers.

She says the chancellor needed to make some "difficult decisions", and that these must be taken in opposition to "the backdrop of an inheritance" of a "£22bn black hole in the public finances".

However the policing minister recognises the "very strong feeling" amongst the farming group, and says "they absolutely have the right to come and protest, to make their views clear".
