Incoming UK ambassador to US Peter Mandelson is ‘proper man for job’, says overseas secretary

Foreign Secretary David Lammy has insisted that Lord Mandelson is the "right man for the job" as he prepares to develop into the UK’s ambassador to the US.

Sources have advised Sky News there may be real concern that Lord Mandelson could possibly be blocked from taking up the job from Karen Pierce, who presently holds the place.
