There’s been indignant response to new sentencing pointers, described by some as "two-tier sentencing" which suggest judges take into account whether or not a prison is from an ethnic, cultural or religion minority earlier than issuing a punishment.
Industry Minister Sarah Jones instructed Sky’s Wilfred Frost, "the government doesn’t agree with that decision," which she mentioned was made by the impartial Sentencing Council.
She added that the justice secretary has requested them to look once more at this advice, insisting "there has to be a single system of justice."
