A former nationwide safety adviser has warned that the conflict in Ukraine may drag on for an additional 12 months until Donald Trump exerts extra strain on Vladimir Putin.
Lord Ricketts advised Trevor Phillips the Trump presidency is unlikely to arm Ukraine, so Russia is unlikely to stay to a ceasefire.
The retired diplomat additionally stated Europe wanted to ask "tough questions" about what precisely a European peacekeeping pressure would do in Ukraine.
