The Archbishop of Westminster has described the method of selecting a brand new pope as a "profound spiritual experience".
Cardinal Vincent Nichols’ description contrasts with the machinations and rancour depicted within the e book and movie Conclave.
The archbishop was one in all 133 cardinals who made up the conclave that selected Pope Leo XIV.
"It’s been a profound spiritual experience," he instructed Sky News.
"Unlike in the film, there was no rancour, I didn’t hear a raised voice. It was far more clam and recollected. A wonderful experience, frankly, I found it remarkable and life-giving."
