The US defence secretary spoke to reporters, together with Sky’s Europe Correspondent Adam Parsons, after a gathering of defence ministers in Brussels.
Pete Hegseth says it was "very heartening" to listen to international locations say they should spend extra on defence.
Asked by Parsons if the US would ponder strolling away from the alliance if it feels allies will not be stepping up sufficient, he says: "That’s not what we’re here to discuss."
The alliance was "sleepwalking into irrelevance", he provides, saying international locations thanked Donald Trump for "reviving" NATO.
