David Beckham is ready to obtain a knighthood within the King’s upcoming Birthday Honours record, Sky News understands.
The former England soccer captain was awarded an OBE in 2003, on the advice of then prime minister Tony Blair, however is now set to obtain additional recognition.
Beckham, who turned 50 in May, would tackle the title of Sir and his spouse, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, would grow to be Lady Beckham, as first reported by The Sun.
