Today is the second day of a UN two-state answer summit in New York, which the US and Israel are boycotting.
The summit is co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia, having been postponed from June and downgraded to a ministerial stage.
David Lammy, the UK overseas secretary, is attending the occasion as worldwide condemnation of Israel’s dealing with of the struggle in Gaza grows.
Both Israel and the United States, its closest ally, have refused to take part within the assembly, which France’s overseas minister mentioned was being attended by representatives of 125 nations, together with 50 ministers.
