Adviser denies jailed former Pakistan chief Imran Khan’s human rights are being violated
An advisor to Pakistan’s authorities has rejected options the nation’s former prime minister is being mistreated in jail.
Imran Khan was handed a three-year jail time period in August 2023 for illegally promoting state items – allegations his supporters say have been politically motivated.
Mr Khan’s sister informed Sky News his household had not been allowed to see him for a number of weeks, and he was being held in solitary confinement.
However, in heated exchanges with Sky’s Yalda Hakim, Ahmed Hassan Al-Arabi insisted Mr Khan’s human rights have been being revered.
