Attorney General Pam Bondi goes to Alcatraz on Thursday to obtain a briefing on the ability.
Bondi and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum will tour the jail and surrounding island, talk about services with Park Police and direct employees to collaborate on crucial planning to reopen the ability, in keeping with a Justice Department official.
President Donald Trump introduced on May 5 that he was ordering federal businesses to rebuild and reopen the infamous most safety jail. Alcatraz closed greater than 60 years in the past, partially as a result of it was thought of too costly to keep up.
