Dozens of firefighters are battling to manage a blaze that threatens the northern suburbs of the French metropolis of Marseille.

Flights have been suspended and folks advised to remain indoors over fears the smoke may harm individuals’s well being.

Southern France has been hit by a number of weeks of heatwaves – robust winds have helped drive wildfires during the last couple of days.
