Amazon Misses EU Deadline for Concessions Over iRobot Deal

Amazon.com missed a Wednesday deadline to supply cures to the European Union over its $1.7 billion acquisition of Roomba maker iRobot, after the bloc had raised issues that the deal may stifle competitors within the robotic vacuum cleaner market.
The European Commission, the EU’s government arm, made its issues recognized in November after conducting an in-depth investigation into the deal that was outlined in August 2022. The bloc despatched Amazon a so-called assertion of objections—a proper step to tell firms of objections raised in opposition to them.
