Angela Rayner has admitted she didn’t pay the correct amount of stamp responsibility on the acquisition of her second residence and has referred herself to the unbiased adviser on ministerial requirements.
Speaking to Sky News’ political editor Beth Rigby on the Electoral Dysfunction podcast, the deputy prime minister grew to become tearful as she claimed she obtained incorrect tax recommendation and spoke to her household about "packing it all in".
Ms Rayner, who can also be the housing secretary, has been beneath scrutiny after a report in The Daily Telegraph claimed she averted £40,000 in stamp responsibility on a flat in Hove by eradicating her identify from the deeds of one other property in Greater Manchester.
