Antarctic seal species struck by chicken flu

Scientists suppose the virus was in all probability launched by birds migrating to the sub-Antarctic from South America.

They have been testing animals on the island of South Georgia, after a number of birds have been discovered lifeless in October.

It’s the area’s first case of contaminated mammals.
