Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has prohibited the use of “woke words” in the state government, including the term “chestfeeding.”

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas does not tolerate mentions of “chestfeeding” and “pregnant people.”

The executive order signed by the Republican governor on Thursday aims to remove “woke, anti-women language” from state government. The governor believes that state agencies should acknowledge and appreciate the differences between men and women instead of disregarding them.

“I cannot reword”

However, in Michigan, which is approximately 800 miles away, the opposite situation was occurring.

The state Senate has approved a change to Senate Bill 351, which is an amendment to the 2014 Breastfeeding Antidiscrimination Act. The terms “woman” and “she” will be replaced with the term “individual.”

On Wednesday, the proposed amendment from Republican state Sen. Michele Hoitenga to include the terms “woman” and “she” was rejected by the Democrat-controlled Senate through a party-line vote.

“I believe that only women, particularly mothers, have the ability to breastfeed or express milk,” she stated in the Midwesterner. “However, inexplicably, this legislation replaces the terms ‘woman’ and ‘she’ with ‘individual.’ My proposed amendment aims to clarify that this bill, concerning the production of breast milk, specifically pertains to women.”

The amendment was opposed by Jeff Irwin, a Democratic state senator who sponsored the bill.

In a video shared online, he expressed his desire to request his coworkers to reject this amendment as it focuses on providing assistance to mothers and infants, rather than engaging in a divisive cultural conflict.

The Biden administration has taken steps to substitute gender-specific language. For instance, they have chosen to use the term “birthing people” instead of “mothers” in a maternal-health guidance issued in 2021. This change seems to acknowledge transgender men, who are biologically female and capable of giving birth and lactating.

Mrs. Sanders, the former press secretary of the Trump White House, has issued an order mandating the use of the term “breastfeeding” instead of “chestfeeding,” “breast fed” instead of “body fed,” and “woman” instead of “birth giver.”

The governor also rejected the use of “womxn” and “womyn,” alternative terms occasionally employed by left-leaning individuals in place of “woman.”

“I have recently announced on X that we have prohibited the usage of these terms within the Arkansas state government. The concept of biology and the existence of chromosomes are undeniable facts. It is important to acknowledge that only women have the ability to give birth.”
