Bannon calls Hannity an ‘idiot’ for asking Trump if he could be a dictator

Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon criticized Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Wednesday after the host requested former President Donald Trump if he could be a dictator if he’s reelected in 2024.

“Sean Hannity actually thought he was helping Trump,” Mr. Bannon mentioned on his “War Room” podcast. “Even to ask that question shows you’re an idiot. And we don’t have time for idiots, bro. This is a war, and we don’t have time for sunshine patriots and this nonsense.”

Mr. Trump skipped Wednesday’s fourth GOP debate and as a substitute participated in a city corridor with Mr. Hannity in Iowa Tuesday.

“To be clear, do you in any way have any plans whatsoever, if reelected president, to abuse power, to break the law, to use the government to go after people?” the host requested Mr. Trump.

“Except for day one,” the previous president answered, including, “We’re closing the border and we’re drilling, drilling, drilling. After that, I’m not a dictator.”

Mr. Bannon has constantly criticized Fox and its homeowners, the Murdoch household. On his podcast he referred to as Fox News “TV for stupid people.”
