Two days after ‘When Harry Met Sally’ director Rob Reiner and his spouse Michele Singer Reiner have been discovered murdered of their Los Angeles house Dec. 14, Billy Crystal and extra of the couple’s shut pals got here collectively to launch a joint tribute. Along with the actor, the Dec. 16 message was signed by greater than a dozen figures from the movie neighborhood, together with Martin Short, Larry David, Albert Brooks and Billy’s spouse Janice Crystal. “Absorbing all he had realized from his father Carl [Reiner] and his mentor Norman Lear, Rob Reiner not solely was an ideal comedian actor, he turned a grasp story teller," the letter stated. "There isn’t any different director who has his vary. From comedy to drama to ‘mockumentary’ to documentary he was all the time on the high of his recreation. He charmed audiences. They trusted him. They lined as much as see his movies." In their statement, the group also remembered Rob and his "good accomplice" Michele’s passion for advocacy. "Strong and decided, Michele and Rob Reiner devoted a substantial amount of their lives for the betterment of our fellow residents," their friends said. "They have been a particular power together-dynamic, unselfish and provoking. We have been their pals, and we are going to miss them without end."
