Birmingham City Council chief ‘eager to get decision’ to metropolis’s bin strikes
Birmingham City Council Leader, Councillor John Cotton, has informed Sky’s Shamaan Freeman-Powell he’s "keen to get a resolution to the dispute", as town offers with an ongoing bin strike.
Members of Unite have been on all-out strike since 11 March in a row over pay, which the union claims will depart some members of workers £8,000 worse off.
A sequence of walkouts have impacted refuse collections since January, leaving tonnes of garbage on the streets.
Mr Cotton says he "understands how difficult it is for the people of the city" and he desires to "find a negotiated settlement" to finish the strikes.
