Hezbollah has introduced that Naim Kassem would be the get together’s new chief.
The resolution by the Lebanese armed group follows Israel’s assassination of long-time chief Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut on 27 September.
Nasrallah’s assumed successor, Hashem Safieddine, was killed in Israeli strikes per week later.
Responding to Kassem’s appointment, the Israeli goverment posted on X: "His tenure in this position may be the shortest in the history of this terrorist organisation if he follows in the footsteps of his predecessors Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine."
